A day trip to Hastings and Stillwater, MN. The colors are really starting to look nice. Wanted to get this image of a sun star through the changing leaves.
Timed our visit just right again to catch the engine of this freight train passing over the railroad bridge in Hastings.
Finally, the weather was perfect to tackle the 5.5-mile St. Croix Crossing Trail Loop. This is a loop trail that includes the relatively new bridge on Hwy 36 and the old - now entirely pedestrian bridge - in downtown Stillwater.
This is a view of the new bridge over the St. Croix River on the south end of the town of Stillwater.

The engineering of this new bridge is impressive. They have an interpretive plaque along this walkway that explains how the bridge and its supports work.
The old lift bridge right in downtown Stillwater is now a pedestrian-only crossing.
