Our first stop this Memorial Day Monday was the small town of Hayfield, MN; where they were having their town’s Memorial Day festivities.

The next stop traveling westward down Route 30 was Blooming Prairie, MN. There are several very nice churches on this stretch of Main Street, and the water tower is classic small town.

Heading south from Hayfield and Blooming Prairie we came across Brownsdale, MN.

This appears to be a former church in Brownsdale, but there was no signage and the surroundings give the impression it may now be a private residence.

“Bicycle Parking Lot”

“Are they dinosaurs? Are they birds? Are they robots? It’s up to you! What we do know is that these wonderful pieces of art were created and donated by artists Steve Johnson and Andy Sinnwell in the spring of 2010. Did you notice that the statues are fashioned from 100% recycled bicycle parts?”

This is known as the Mansion Museum and the sign says it was a 1900 Bankers home and cost $6,287 to build in 1899.
